How it works

Ezetimibe/Simvastatin works by decreasing the absorption of cholesterol in the small intestine and by reducing the amount of cholesterol made in the liver. Ezetimibe/Simvastatin does not help you lose weight.

Simbex Tablets Usage And Safety

Simvastatin, Ezetimibe

• Headache • Nausea • Muscle aches • Dizziness • Feeling tired • Cough • Stomach irritation • Diarrhoea • Decreased appetite • Weight decreased • Indigestion • Flatulence • Abdominal bloating • Dry mouth • Heart burn • Constipation • Hot flush • Hypertension• Pain • Depression • Tingling or numbness of the hands or feet • Trouble sleeping • Poor memory • Confusion • Erectile dysfunction • Breathing problems including persistent cough and/or shortness of breath, that may also occur with fatigue, unexplained weight loss or fever.

Drug Interactions

Nefazodone , cobicistat , indinavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir , boceprevir or telaprevir , gemfibrozil , ciclosporin , danazol , erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin and fusidic acid, ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole and voriconazole , elbasvir, or grazoprevir , cholestyramine , other fibrates, nicotinic acid , warfarin, fluindione , colchicine , verapamil , diltiazem , amiodarone , amlodipine, digoxin , daptomycin.

Indication

Ezetimibe/Simvastatin helps to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It is used in people whose cholesterol levels are too high and when diet alone cannot lower these levels adequately.

When not to Use

Do not take Ezetimibe/Simvastatin if: • You have allergy to Ezetimibe/Simvastatin or any of the ingredients listed • You are pregnant or breast feeding.

Simbex Tablets Precautions

Precaution

Tell your doctor if: you have unexplained muscle pain,Terderness weakness not caused by exercise. This is because on rare ccasions, muscle problems can be serious, including muscle breakdown resulting in kidney damage that can lead to death. Your doctor may do a blood test to check for certain muscle problems.

Simbex Tablets Warnings

Warning 1

Your doctor should do a blood test before you start taking Ezetimibe/Simvastatin. This is to check how well your liver is working.

Warning 2

While you are on this medicine your doctor will monitor you closely if you have diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes. You are likely to be at risk of developing diabetes if you have high levels of sugars and fats in your blood, are overweight and have high blood pressure.

Warning 3

Ezetimibe/Simvastatin is not recommended for children under age 10.
